English Meaning & Translation
The treasury is the root of power.
Know that the treasury is the strength of the kingdom.
The king who wastes resources in prosperity will find none in adversity. Treasure is power — use it with wisdom.
💼 Business Lesson
Resource efficiency is a direct competitive weapon. The organisation that consistently produces more output from fewer inputs builds a structural cost advantage that compounds over time.
👑 Leader Lesson
The most effective resource leaders create cultures where waste is seen as unacceptable — where every team member understands the cost of material scrap, energy waste, and idle equipment, and is empowered to eliminate it.
⚙ Manufacturing Lesson
Track OEE, material yield, energy per unit of output, and labour productivity. Set annual improvement targets for each. A 2% improvement in material yield in a tube plant compounds to a significant margin advantage over five years.
📜 APPLICATION TO MODERN INDUSTRY

Chanakya placed extraordinary emphasis on treasury and resource management. Every unit of resource wasted was a unit of power forfeited.

✔ ACTION CHECKLIST
